PPDS Day 2026: Open for Business

Organisation: European Commission. Location: Brussels, Belgium

Europe spends around €2.5 trillion a year through public procurement. Making that spending more transparent, connected and useful depends on having better procurement data.

On 1 December, the European Commission’s PPDS Day 2026: Open for Business will bring together public buyers, policymakers, businesses, researchers and data experts to look at the next stage of the Public Procurement Data Space.

The PPDS is designed to bring procurement information from across Europe together and make it more accessible, reliable and useful for better decision-making. The event comes at an important moment, as the EU’s proposed Public Procurement Act puts digitalisation and a more integrated European procurement marketplace at the heart of procurement reform.

Our Head of Europe, Karolis Granickas, will join the expert panel on the future of public procurement data, looking at what comes next for the PPDS and how Europe can make better use of procurement data beyond the current reform process.

At OCP, we see the PPDS as an increasingly important centre of gravity for EU procurement data: a place where better data can support transparency, competition, smarter policy and more strategic public spending.

The programme will also explore data quality, new PPDS capabilities, technical architecture and the implications of the proposed Public Procurement Act.
