Community Call: Bridging the gap in vaccine procurement. How to build transparency for public trust

Organisation: Open Contracting Partnership. Location: Webinar

As we move toward recovery and continue to meet the global demand for vaccines, government and civil society actors are seeking guidance on COVID-19 vaccine procurement. While existing guidance covers medical rollout and corruption risks, there is a gap on how to communicate information around the commercial decisions, and who governments bought the vaccine from and why—which are central to building and maintaining public trust in the program.

Together with our community of practitioners, Transparency International and the Open Government Partnership, we have created a new guide to fill that gap. Covering 15 priority pieces of information that should be shared along the vaccine procurement cycle, this guide provides in-depth context and examples of what the key issues around vaccine contracting are, and why public disclosure matters.

Join our launch event as we walk through the key phases of the guide, and share success stories from both governments and civil society around the world who are using open data and stakeholder engagement to build public trust in vaccine programs—helping bring clarity and certainty to an otherwise uncertain time.
